How To Find A Discount Golf Club

J D Dean

Looking for a discount golf club? No, not an actual golf club as in where members hang out but the golf club version you belt, graft and putt your way around a course with.

I've got to tell you, most keen golfers with a limited budget will be looking to cut corners cost wise and I don't blame them. Buying a discount golf club over a full priced version means being just a little savvy as a shopper.

Finding Your Discount Golf Club

Accidents occasionally do happen on a course and golf clubs can be damaged. Heck, when I first started playing I was nicknamed Safari because after the initial tee off the next time my playing partners saw me was at the next tee off area. Yep, I spent a good portion of my time negotiating thick bush and rough looking for my ball.

The point is, if there was a tree on the course I would find it. I have lost count of how many balls I had to play lying close to a tree and being the risk taker I was, instead of playing a safe shot, I would literally go for it and try and belt the ball through the tree. Not good.

The reality was I was breaking the occasional club by wrapping it around a tree. So I'd be off looking for a replacement golf club at a discount price.

Start With Your Local Pro Shop

A discount golf club is not hard to find and it's amazing what pops up when you're looking and you ask. Always start with your local pro shop and let the pro know what you're looking for. They are usually running discount sales all the time to make way for new stock.

This is also the case with golf shops not located on the course. Whether yo are looking for an iron, a wood or a wedge I'd be very surprised if you didn't find a suitable club at a discounted price at any golf retail shop.

Go Online

If not, go online and search for discount golf clubs. You'll have plenty to choose from. Ebay is a great shopping mall and another golf equipment friendly shopping area.

Garage sales are another gold mine if you are prepared to look. Keep an eye out for garage sales in your area or check the local clasifieds for garage sale listings.

This author has a bit of experience searching for a discount golf club but is now happy to report, thanks to an observant mentor who took him aside for some serious coaching, he now plays and treats the game with a little more respect and plays it well.
