Golf Swing Speed - The Truth About The Golf Swing

The difference between a good golfer and a weekend hacker is simply the time devoted to the practice fairway and the amount of coaching one is prepared to invest in.

Too many amateurs trying to achieve unrealistic golf swing speed in their shots fail to understand the mechanics involved in getting the ball from the tee and traveling in a reasonably straight line down the fairway.

In most cases, belting the daylights out of the ball is not about increasing one's golf swing speed. It's more about developing correct rhythm in your swing and using the various parts of your body to propel the ball at good distances.

Standing over the ball and winding up with all your might is not going to make the ball necessarily travel further. In fact, it's more than likely going to result in a mis-timed shot where the player will need to travel cross country to retrieve it.

It takes some time for the novice to understand this point, but once they do they will be able to train well towards achieving a good golf swing speed in their game. Sometime the best lesson is the simplest. You will find that the easiest way to achieve a golf swing speed is by correcting your striking stance.

The right posture in golf is not really an easy thing to achieve since each move has certain restrictions that resist the natural body movement. But once the right technique is understood, it is easy to progress from there.

Getting yourself a coach should be your first move in understanding the right swing techniques. You could watch all the videos on the planet, read or the books in the library and listen to all the audio coaching tapes you can get your hands on; nothing replaces an actual live coaching session where someone is watching and guiding your every move.

The best part of getting coaching is it doesn't have to be for an eternity especially if there are just some specific aspects of your game you want to improve upon. Golf swing speed needs to be fluent. It virtually determines the outcome of the hole you are playing. If you're serious about taking your swing to the next level then consider some one-on-one coaching.
