Beginners Take Note - This Is A Golf Swing Lesson You Must Heed!

A golf swing lesson is a great way to stay on top of your game if you are an experienced golfer. For a beginner, it's crucial in learning the right technique so you won't develop bad habits. Too many times golfers will wander aimlessly through the golfing maze without improving and wonder why golf is such a challenging game.

Challenging it is but in reality, it's a simple game. The aim is to get your ball from point A to Point B with the least amount of strokes. A golf swing lesson will continually keep you tuned to technique and allow you to make inroads into your golf handicap. But who can give the best golf swing lesson. Undoubtedly a golfing pro can but in this article, I want to alert you to the fact that a less gifted player can still provide good advice.

Knowledge Sharing

A friend of mine was working for about five years in a medium firm when they got their first computers. Since he was the PA of the Director, he had the privilege to get one of the first pieces. In a matter of six months the office made computers available to the rest of the office staff as well.

As soon as they got the machines – and because none of them were trained – an expert was called in to give them the ground basics. They went through the ten day training program which was theory intensive and found at the end of the program that other than putting the machine on, their knowledge hadn't really improved any. Since they didn't want the management to know that they were unable to cope yet, they learnt to share with each other every time one of them would discover something about the function of the computer. Within two months most of them were “experts” in their own ways.

How did they get there? By being able to share as beginners would share with one another. A beginner knows and feels that the other does not know even the basics, something that a pro would take for granted. Hence when a pro golf player will give you a tip or advise you in your technique he/she will glide over the basics or what he/she thinks are the basics. If you do not share the same ideas about what the “basics” are, then it is most likely that whatever he/she shows will go way over your head.

Understanding Golf At Your Level

The best golf swing lesson or tip you will get could be from your fellow beginner or novice golf player. Each amateur golf player plans to top the game one day, and each of them are looking for a valuable tip that would smooth the path to their aim. Hence, these people, though not good enough to train you, are definitely good enough to give you a golf swing lesson or two, because they speak your language.

The moral to this story is find a good balance between expert and beginner's advice. The pro may think it trivial to point out trivial things during your golf swing lesson but if you are just starting out, what seems trivial to a pro could be challenging to a beginner. Don't underestimate or dismiss advice given by a fellow beginner too lightly!
